Question about Cricket Motorola W315 PEBL
I have the Motorola W315 phone that I bought at a Cricket dealer and was told by the Cricket Store that this phone COULD receive picture messages despite the fact that it is NOT a camera phone. So, I purchased the phone and found that I could not receive picture messages. I called the store that I bought it at and they had me go through a re-programming type thing and still no picture messages. Is it possible to receive picture messages with a phone that doesn't have a camera? Is it possible to modify my phone so that I CAN receive picture messages? If so how?
Thanks in advance!

In some cases phones that do not have a camera are activated with the picture messaging feature turned off. You call cricket and ask them to double check to see if it is turned on. Cricket does this to cut costs on non-camera phones. If you do that and still have an issue let me know.

W315
According to the Motorola website and phonescoop, this phone is mms capable. When I purchased the phone for $149.00 at Cricket, I was told that I could receive picture messages with this phone. When I discoved that picture messages that others were sending me weren't coming through on my phone I took it back to Cricket and explained that it would not accept picture messages and they told me "Sorry, there's nothing we can do"

I am on the motorola website right now. Click on messaging featuers. As far as phonescoop.com goes, it's wrong. As far as cricket goes, our return policy is clearly stated on our reciepts. 30/30. 30 days or 30 minutes of use on the phone; whatever comes first. Brightpoint wont accept phones returned to them if it is over that amount, period. Nor can we resell the phone to another customer as NEW if it's over that ammount. I don't mean to sound like I don't care, but this issue really shouldn't be an issue and you are wanting to debate against the facts. It's is to bad the rep told you it would, but looking at it from this side of the counter, I get customers saying Jimmy Bob said I could have a free accessory or Jane Dwayne said I could have a free month of service since I didnt get my paper bill like a requested and now I am late...... he said she said ...
SMS is the only thing listed on the Motorola website, that and EMS, but MMS is not listed, plus a special note on the bottom saying:
NOTE: Certain mobile phone features are dependent on the capabilities and settings of your service provider's network. Additionally, certain features may not be activated by your service provider, and/or their network settings may limit the feature's functionality. Always contact your service provider about feature availability and functionality. All features, functionality and other product specifications are based upon the latest available information and are believed to be accurate; however such product specifications are subject to change without notice or obligation.
And just to go a little further, incase you come back with EMS is MMS:
EMS (Enhanced Messaging Service) is a direct descendant of SMS (Short Messaging Service). EMS extends text messaging to include small graphics, melodies, animations and long, formatted text messages. EMS is frequently used to send ringtones and wallpapers to phones from the web.
Nokia Picture Messaging is a similar but proprietary technology supported on Nokia and some Samsung phones. EMS is an industry standard.
EMS is older and less capable than MMS, which can handle true photos and larger multimedia files.

Making a long story short, the phone is capable of downloading media; ringtones, wallpapers, etc. Not Puicture Messaging.
