Thumbs down Replying to text messages

Does anyone else have a probelm replying to text messsages? This has been my only complaint with Cricket. When I receive a text message from another user, I cannot tell who the message is from. When I hit reply I get the error message telling me that no reply address has been specified. Oddly enough I can reply to text messages that are sent through the cricket website. I can also reply if people enter their callback number in their phone settings (which most people don't seem to do).

I have come to the realization that it has to be a network problem in my area. Does anyone have this problem or have any thoughts on the matter?

    Question

Here in Phoenix I have never had any problems replying to text messages. At the same time every text message sent to me contains the sending persons phone number regardless of a callback number being entered. It is kinda redundent when a callback is entered because the msg will have their number twice, once saying "From" and again saying "Call". It does seem to be a problem with your specific area in that the Call ID data is not tagged onto the messages. Does Call ID work for regular voice calls in your area?

Yep, caller ID works fine in my area but I get nothing on text messages. I have had the same problem with several different phones. I thought at first that the phone was the problem. Hopefully this forum will get big enough to where we can figure out problems like this.

The customer service is pretty bad. They are nice but typically unhelpful. I have called them several times with my text message issue and they end up telling me to contact my phone manufacturer.

All of the sudden this just started working. I now have the "From:" at the top of my messages that has never been there before. I suppose they finally fixed whatever the issue was.

    Wink

It's almost like they have been lurking on your forum and read your post and decided to fix it. LOL I'm a dreamer, that would be way too good to be true, but ya never know. Glad to hear it's fixed for you, had to be really annoying not being able to reply without manually inputing the number.

It's very annoying. The worst part is not having to type in the number each time. The worst part is getting a text message and having to call everyone you know becuase you can't figure out who it's from.
