Verizon krzr question about ESN #
I bought a Verizon krzr the other day (it's cheaper) , flashed it to cricket , I called it in and the lady said the ESN number was already in use even though it's brand new phone with plastic still on it , she said I should carry it into the store but I don't want to take it if it stolen , I'd rather get my money and not deal with them again unless you guys know of a solution or what could be causing it to say it's in use already , Thanks

call verizon and ask them what the deal is... maybe it simply hasn't been deactivated from someone's verizon account.. or maybe they forgot to release it from showing active on their system.

It doesn't make sense to me either , cause when I got the phone it said it required activation on the phone internal display itself , not a sticker , would that have anything to do with it ?

ya or maybe she was putting the incorrect ESN in of one that was already in use but i would just call verizon and tell them ur issue

Thank you guys/gals for your responses it was much appreciated . I have a friend who works at Cricket , he checked the esn and said the only number it was tied to was mine , he said the lady added it and then deleted but it was never activated on any other account as I assumed . Well I took it over there and he programmed it in himself and it worked just fine , so I guess it was a language barrier between me and the “India” women as Cricket’s customer rep , or simply she didn’t know what she was doing .
