SMS problem Cricket <=> Sasktel
I'm a Canadian. Last winter I was in Phoenix and got a Cricket phone. I could send and receive SMS text messages with phones back home in Saskatchewan (SaskTel).
This winter I can receive SMS texts from Sask Tel customers. I can send texts without any error but the texts never arrive.
Texts to other carriers (ie Rogers) seem to be ok.
Tech support is just clueless... "I am happy to be of assistance serving for you today. Do you have enough signal bars? Is your telephone hand set turned on? Dial *228 while I put you on hold and hang up on you." *sigh*
Obviously SaskTel is going to say they never got the text and Cricket is going to say the problem is at their end. So I'm stuck.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

you'll probably never get a direct answer but truth be told it is probably a network band issue. sometimes a message is sent at a certain wave band an the phone which would be retrieving is a unassociated band an wont allow the message to be received. that or it could possibly be unsupported by the receiving network. boost mobile use to be horrible for this. you could send to verizon, sprint/nextel, virgin mobile,at&t, an most large carriers but helio nor cricket would ever see a text sent from a boost mobile phone for some reason. later on tho cricket did begin getting the boost text an helio was bought out by virgin mobile an began to also (funny thing is helio was running on the sprint network). so maybe with time it will allow the messages to be retrieved on the other network just really depends on what the issue could be

Well I did get an answer! A tier 2 Cricket tech called me up and told me its a Cricket routing issue. No cricket customer can send a Text to any Sask Tel customer. They are now aware of the problem and are working on it. So we will see how it goes.
For me personally, because I have the new Cricket Android phone, I was able to get a Google Voice number. Google Voice provides unlimited texting to Canada and basically replaces the default Cricket texting App so I'm all set.
