Traval time, some of the time?

Is it possible to just buy an increment of traval time when you need to go on a trip, or do you have to buy it by the month with your plan?

lets say that you just found out that your leaving in a week (out of the cricket market)

call up cricket, tell them you would like to add travel time into your account and they will bill the price on your upcoming bill and you will be set when you leave.

Travel time comes in incruments or amount and price:

30 minutes of incoming/outgoing calls $5.00 per month
70 minutes of incoming/outgoing calls $10.00 per month
120 minutes of incoming/outgoing calls $15.00 per month

This money will be inside your "flex bucket"

How will you know if your roaming ?

Your phone will display a roaming indicator, which will vary by phone. In general, it will be indicated by the letter "R", the word "Roaming" or a display icon. Please see your owner’s manual for specific information relating to your roaming indicator display. Whenever the roaming indicator is displayed, you will be charged for roaming.

You also have to have the option in your plan. I don't believe every plan has the travel time option does it?

Cool. I remember when it first came out you had to pay an extra $5 per month just to add the feature.

I'm not sure the original question was answered fully... I just dealt with this issue last night, so here's the full explanation.

Depending on your market, you have a few options for travel time.

Option 1. The $60 plan (not available in all markets)... this plan includes 300 minutes of travel time each month. However, it does not have mobile web. If you want it, it's an additional $5/mo.

Option 2. Any other plan, with a $5-10-15 /mo addition of travel time. This plan is what Mr. Candid described above. It is PER MONTH/Recurring. Don't use the minutes and you lose them. Good option if you know you'll regularly roam.. However, the $15 option is just stupid if you live in a market with the $60 calling plan... For the same price, you can get more minutes by using the $60 plan.

Option 3. YOu can add money to your flex bucket (the same one that you must put money into if you're downloading ringtones, etc. You will be billed $0.39/minute for travel time this way. It is MUCH more expensive than any of the travel time add ons, but, if you don't travel much, and want to only pay for the minutes you use, is a good option.

Option 4. Be like me. I'm going on a short trip tomorrow, so I called cricket, added the $15/mo travel time add on... when I come home, I'll cancel the add on and won't have recurring charges. That way I get the big block of minutes at the lower rate, and I won't be billed again next month. The downside is that they pro-rate your minutes per month, so if you added it towards the end of your billing cycle, you won't have many minutes to use.
