I will apologize in advance, because this question has been asked previously in a variety of ways, but here goes.

I am trying to switch over 3 phones (LG VX 8300, Kyocera KX 414, and a Motorola) from the evil V to Cricket and after reviewing the other posts, I am trying to understand the proper procedure and order of execution. As I understand it, this is how it is done:

1) Access the menu and press 0.
2) Change the SID to the proper one for my Cricket area (Cincinnati)
3) Call Cricket and provide them with the phone's ESN (11 digits)
4) Press *22804 and the PRL file will download from Cricket.

Is this correct? And if so, I understand that text may or may not work. Can I then take the phone it to a Cricket store for further programming to make the texting work?
