Hey everyone,

I'm planning on buying a new phone from Ebay (Motorola Hint), but the auction says it is locked and they do not have the lock code. I emailed the seller and he told me that it is a lock code supplied to the original user, and that I would have to take it to a Cricket store to get the code reset, or hard reset the phone.

I'm just curious, will I get any problems at the store if I ask them to unlock it for me? Do you need to be the original owner of the phone to have this done? I don't want to spend money and not be able to use the phone. If so, is "hard resetting" a foolproof way to unlock the phone so I can use it?

Also, it is a true Cricket phone, not flashed or anything. Will I be able to activate it to work with my plan, even though I didn't buy it from them?
