Has Cricket Stopped Activating Non-Cricket Phones?

Tonight I tried several times to activate two different Razr V3C's that where originally Verizon but had Stock Cricket Software on them. Crickets outsourced telephone people, said I had to take the phone to a Cricket store, but couldn't tell me why.

A supervisor finally told me that Cricket has changed the rules and is not allowing phones with no Cricket history to be activated.

I asked why they where sending me to a store if they can't be activated. He said well maybe some Cricket stores would.

I can't wait to talk to a Cricket store today and find out what they have to say.

Has anybody else heard about this change?

If Cricket trys to enforce it, you are probably going to see a lot of illegal ESN changing going on, by people who want their particular phone or don't want to pay retail prices for a phone.

I do it at my store, both flash and activate, and have heard nothing any plans cricket has to stop. Indirect dealers should be able to do it no prob...like Mrcricket23 said "there's always a way around"
